Why I Built Reputake:
Solving One of Hiring's Biggest Problems

After more than 20 years leading teams across recruitment, aviation, logistics, waste management, transport, infrastructure and other essential service industries, I kept seeing the same challenge come up time and time again.

Good people were being overlooked.

The wrong people were being hired.

And businesses were paying the price.

I have recruited and managed hundreds of employees, and I have sat on both sides of the hiring table.

I have reviewed thousands of resumes, worked with recruiters, and seen candidates who looked exceptional on paper but revealed very different characteristics once they were in the role.

That experience taught me something important: traditional hiring methods often give us a polished snapshot, but never the complete picture. They can tell you what a person has done, but not always how they work, how they show up, or how they impact the people around them.

Too often, businesses invest heavily in recruitment, onboarding and training, only to discover the fit was wrong and the cycle starts again.

The best hiring decisions happen when we look beyond the CV.

The Gap in Traditional Hiring

A CV tells you where someone has worked. An interview tells you how well they present themselves. Neither reliably tells you what they are actually like to work with.

That gap creates risk.

The Costly Reality

It is easy to be impressed by a brilliant interview and then face a disappointing reality once the person starts. The problem is not always ability. Often it is alignment, reliability, attitude, or the way someone interacts with a team.

  • Financial impact: recruitment costs, onboarding, training and the expense of starting over again.
  • Time impact: months of support, coaching and management effort that could have been invested elsewhere.
  • Reputation impact: lower team morale, weaker service, and consequences that reach customers and stakeholders.

These are not isolated problems. They happen every day across every industry.

Introducing Reputake

That is why I built Reputake to solve this exact problem with verified insight into professional reputation, work ethic, reliability, character and cultural fit.

At the centre of the platform is the Reputation Passport, designed to help people present a more credible and complete view of who they are at work.

Instead of relying only on claims, Reputake helps bring trusted evidence into the hiring process.

What Is Reputake?

The Reputation Passport gives candidates a way to showcase the parts of their professional story that matter most in real hiring decisions.

  • Verified work history
  • Verified achievements
  • Verified skills
  • Professional endorsements
  • Character references
  • Work ethic insights
  • Team and cultural fit indicators
  • Feedback from people who have genuinely worked with them

The focus is on verification, credibility and trust, giving hiring decisions a stronger foundation than the CV alone.

Helping Employers Hire With Confidence

Reputake gives employers deeper insight so they can identify candidates who align with values, expectations and culture. It helps reduce uncertainty and improves the quality of decisions at every stage of the process.

With better evidence, employers can move from guesswork to better hiring decisions.

Helping Recruiters Deliver Better Candidates

Recruiters who use Reputake can differentiate themselves by bringing more credibility and clarity to client conversations. It helps them present quality candidates, not just qualified candidates, and build greater trust with the organisations they serve.

Helping Candidates Stand Out

  • Character
  • Work ethic
  • Integrity
  • Reliability
  • Attitude

For exceptional people who do not always interview well, Reputake creates a way to stand out and provide evidence of what they bring to a workplace.

It gives them the chance to be seen for who they really are, not just how they perform in a short conversation.

Building Trust Back Into Hiring

The future of hiring is not just about qualifications. It is about trust. After more than 20 years of leadership experience, I believe there is a better way to connect great people with great organisations. That starts with understanding the person behind the CV and creating a process that reflects the realities of work, not just the contents of a resume.
